Is there a special veteran licence plate?

Veteran status is not expressed in a special plate colour or shape, but in the official entry “veteran vehicle” in the registration document. The vehicle is registered with ordinary licence plates.

A practical particularity: while normally no more than two vehicles may be registered on interchangeable plates, several veteran vehicles may be registered on the same interchangeable plates. If one of them loses veteran status, the maximum of two vehicles per set of interchangeable plates applies again.

Veteran vehicles therefore do not necessarily each need their own plates — they can be run cost-effectively on shared interchangeable plates.
