Art. 12 VTS: “Motor vehicles of class T are wheeled tractors under Regulation (EU) No 167/2013 designed for use in agriculture and forestry.” Tracked tractors form class C and are divided into the same subclasses as class T.
| Class | Characteristic (simplified) |
|---|---|
| T1 | track width ≥ 1.15 m, unladen weight > 0.6 t |
| T2 | track width < 1.15 m, unladen weight > 0.6 t |
| T3 | unladen weight ≤ 0.6 t |
| T4 | special purpose (straddle tractor, over-width, low ground clearance) |
| C | tracked tractors (subclasses as for T) |
A speed index is appended to the class designation: “a” for a design speed up to 40 km/h, “b” for over 40 km/h.
